We utilise the cultivation space in the natural environment of ecoKtima and create wonderful, vibrant and productive gardens. Vegetable gardens (with seasonal vegetables), flower beds with legumes and cereals (we learn about crop rotation and the importance of cereals and legumes for our nutrition and environment), herb gardens and theme flower beds (historical plants, fibre plants, flower gardens, etc.).

Gardening on camera

We observe all the actions from our screen through the camera. The agriculturist and the specialised partners in ecoKtima explain and teach the process and the secrets of gardening.

> We plant vegetables and herbs in the garden.

> We cultivate and learn the origin of our food.

> We sow and harvest cereals and legumes.

> We observe the environment and life in the garden.

> We collect and taste the vegetables and fruits that have been grown at ecoKtima and discuss the benefits of the Mediterranean diet.

Digital gardening training

We participate in digital gardening workshops from our school and/ or home.

garden time lapse.png

Garden Time Lapse

We monitor and record with images the growth of plants in the garden- from seed, vegetation, flowering, fruiting (which can take months) and make videos ''time-lapse'', where the whole process is illustrated in a few minutes. We compare the above plants with our own plants at school or home.

School Garden Project

With the cooperation of Med Culture / ecoktima partners, we create school gardens with vegetables and herbs and we are experientially trained.

School Garden Science Monitoring.png

School Garden Science Monitoring

Installation at the school and at the same time in ecoktima of a system of intelligent sensors for monitoring data of air and soil temperature and humidity, solar radiation, wind speed and direction, rain gauge, flow meter and other data, so that they are recorded in databases and correlated with actions taken in the field. This data and information will be used in the educational process for conducting experiments and experiential observation in collaboration with the teachers of the school.
